STVV suffered a 0-2 defeat at home against AS Eupen. Baby gave the visitors the lead before half-time. Substitute Prevljak delivered the verdict in the end.
The match started rather closed, although STVV had some small opportunities. Brüls and Lavalée put goalkeeper Defourny to the test once each. Suzuki had the best chance for Sint-Truiden but he came just too late to slide in a cross from Brüls.
The opening goal fell to the other side shortly before the break. Baby headed a precise cross from Adriano into the nets, 0-1.
Early in the second half, Miangue outsmarted his own goalkeeper, but the equalizer was disallowed after VAR intervention, due to prior offside by Mboyo.
Not much later referee Boucaut punished an foul by Teixeira on Musona with a severe red card. STVV continued with ten players, with half an hour left on the clock.
The visitors from the Eastern Cantons had a few chances to deepen the score, but Schmidt was on hand every time. Until Prevljak, who had just stepped in, made it 0-2 shortly before the end of the game.
STVV created a few more opportunities under the impulse of substitutes Steuckers, Nazon and Hashioka, but they were unable to score.
